One of the great things about staying in Los Angeles is that it is a multicultural city that offers many different opportunities to experience new cultures and traditions. One such opportunity is the Dia De Los Muertos event that will take place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. This will be the 17th annual Dia De Los Muertos event taking place at the cemetery. This year, the event will take place on Saturday, October 29th from 12pm - 12am.
During this event, there will be many activities to enjoy. For example, at the maine stage, enjoy a number of different live events such as performances from Julieta Venegas, Alejandro y Maria Laura, Buyepongo, Mitre and Mariachi Flor de Toloache. You can also enjoy delicious Mexican food from vendors that will be available throughout the event. Walk around and see the wide collection of Day of the Dead arts and crafts that will also be available for purchase. One of the main events will be a vibrant procession featuring traditional Aztec blessings as well as dedications from regional musical dance groups. Of course, there will also be over 100 altars that have been created by community members in order to honor their loved ones and ancestors. Dia de los Muertos, or, Day of the Dead, is a traditional event that allows us to remember the spirits of our dearly departed. Through the creation of altars, family members pay tribute to loved ones by leaving them offerings that will help in their journey through the afterlife.
