Every year, one of the highlights of the festival are the premieres. This year, the LA Film Festival will be hosting the world premiere screening of The Conjuring 2. When the movie first premiered three years ago, it took the box office by storm and now, the sequel will finally be premiered. Another stand out event will be a panel about The Birth of a Nation. This movie was one of the most talked about movies at The Sundance Film Festival and now you can hear Nate Parker, director of the movie, talk about this movie in an engaging panel. Also at the panel will be high-profile filmmakers that are still yet to be named. The Birth of a Nation tells the story of Nat Turner, a former slave who leads a rebellion in order to free African Americans in 1831 Virginia. At the Film Festival, you can see movies from a wide variety of genres including fiction, documentary, world fiction, short films and more. In addition, there is the LA Muse section of the festival where you can see films that have been inspired by the city of Los Angeles.
Passes for the general public are now on sale. These passes allow entrance into most of the screenings except for special events. If you are not interested in purchasing a pass, there are individual tickets available that you can purchase. However, individual tickets are not offered for all of the screenings and events.
