One place to consider starting your West Hollywood walking tour is at the Pacific Design Center. At this location you’ll find MOCA, the Museum of Contemporary Art. MOCA has a number of locations throughout the city including a space at the PDC. At this location, you’ll see rotating exhibitions from both new and established artists. Exhibits specifically focus on architecture and design.
After you explore the museum, exit the PDC and then turn left. After just one block you’ll come across La Galerie Montaigne. This is an art gallery featuring avant garde international artists. The gallery is unique in that the space is solely dedicated to the works of artists from around the world. Once you’ve explored the gallery, keep walking left on Melrose Ave and you’ll hit Le Pain Quotidien at the corner of Melrose and Westbourne. Stop here for lunch or grab some coffee and enjoy fresh baked goods before going on to your next destination!
If you keep exploring Melrose, you’ll come upon a number of shops and boutiques. Some of these include LuLu Lemon, Rag & Bone New York, MAC, Cutler and Gross London, L’Agent by Agent Provocateur and Alice and Olivia by Stacey Bendet. Feel free to stop by any of the boutiques that catch your eye. If you continue down Melrose from Le Pain Quotidien for about four blocks, you’ll eventually run into Dash, a shop made famous by the Kardashians. Find your Hollywood wardrobe at this location. After this, continue down Melrose Ave, or turn onto La Cienega Blvd, another road famous for shops and restaurants. At the corner of Melrose and La Cienega, you’ll find EP & LP, which features a full indoor restaurant on the first floor and a rooftop bar up above. End your walking tour by grabbing a drink on the bar or dinner inside - or both!
